Thank you for joining me on the investing for freedom podcast. Have you ever found yourself saying that you’re not ready to do something that you are super intrigued by or very interested in or something that you just really want to do?

It could be starting a business. It could be joining a mastermind. It could be buying your first rental property. So many things. We often tell ourselves I’m not ready for that yet. And if you really think about it, and this is the core component of the message that I really want you thinking about today, ready is a lie. If you really think about it, anything that you’ve ever done great. And you might want to just take a second to think about this. Anything that you’ve ever done, that’s great, You weren’t necessarily ready for, and that phrase ready is a lie is so true and we need to consider it because every time that I’ve wanted to join a mastermind or join a course or launch a business or even launch this podcast, I’ve really struggled with that. And we all do.

And the point that I want to drive home today, again, is ready is a lie. You’ll never be fully ready to do whatever it is that you want to do. And if it scares the living heck out of you, you probably need to just keep marching forward. Ready is a lie. And the only way that you’re ever going to fully step into that new room is by stepping into that new room. And so that phrase ready is a lie is something that, you know, I’ve had to tell myself over and over and over again, because the only way that you’re going to be ready is to start moving into whatever it is.

So I just want to challenge you or encourage you today that whatever it is that you’re considering, we’re getting toward the end of the year. And you’re probably thinking about, you know, goal setting and you know, possibly the masterminds that you want to be involved in next year or courses that you want to take or whatever it is, or starting that new business, like I said, or getting into an investment property. I have a good friend of mine that actually said this the other day, I’m launching a real estate course. And I sent him the link and he said to me, he said, Mike, I don’t know if I’m ready for that. I don’t know if I’m in a spot where I’m ready to buy a rental property and he immediately followed with like a presupposition. And he said, you might tell me that by getting into the course, that might be the one thing that gets me ready. And he was so right, because he was saying that he wasn’t ready financially yet to buy a rental property. But one of the things that I can tell you is when I started investing in rental properties, I wasn’t ready either. I used other people’s money for many of the first deals.

In fact, my first mobile home park deal was 100% other people’s money. I bought a 72 space mobile home park with a first position note for $390,000 and the lady that was selling it, it was like a fire sale. Cause she needed some cash. The lady that was selling it one at $80,000 cash and I didn’t have the $80,000. So I went to a mentor of mine and borrowed the $80,000 cash in second position behind the $390,000 note in first position. And I got a 72 space mobile home park deal with no money down.

Now, if I had told myself every single time that I wanted to buy an investment property or start a business or join a for instance, the couples mastermind that Kara and I did this last year with Chris and Lori harder. I wasn’t ready for that. I wasn’t ready necessarily to be in the room with you know, the people that, at least I didn’t think I was I wasn’t ready to be in the room with the people that I knew were going to end up being there and the speakers and spending an entire year of my life with powerhouse people like Chris and Lori harder.

I mean, all the, you know, imposter syndrome comes in for everyone. Your ready is a lie. You’re never going to be fully ready. So you’re never going to be ready to start that business. You’re never going to be ready to invest in that first property. You’re never going to be ready to join that mastermind. You’re never going to be ready to do that course. You’re never going to be ready to start dating again or whatever it is for you.

So I would just challenge you to think about the areas in life that scared the living heck out of you and just really think about where you’re telling yourself that you’re not ready when ready is a lie. The way to really make change in your life is to start moving forward and start marching through it. And as I said in the beginning, you’re never going to be ready to move into that new room, whatever that new room is until you actually start moving into it. So hope that challenges you, hope that helps I’m ready is a lie. And again, as we’re going into the end of the new year or the end of the year and entering a new year I want you to thinking about that a little bit. I am, what areas am I telling myself that I’m not ready when ready is a lie.
